I have been in the construction industry from the late 1960's and what I am about now is providing an honest, friendly, reliable and a professional property / building service to the general public, commercial properties and also to the construction industry. As I have already mentioned, above, I complete general repairs and alterations also full refurbishments, extensions, conservatories, porches, plumbing, electrical works, both fitted kitchens and bathrooms, porches, decorating and much more. There has been far too much bad press regarding the state of services offered by so called ‘tradesmen’, or even worse 'handymen', ( obviously some are good people too ), who seem to appear on those hidden camera shows on the television and so thereby catching these ‘cowboy’s’ out... and quite rightly so, and that's where I come in... I am from a long forgotten age where the construction industry actually had proper apprentices who served a full five years apprenticeship to work beside long served foremen who were held in high regards and would teach us, ( the young ones ), how to do the work correctly... not like it is nowadays where anyone can go on a three or five days course and become an electrician, ( or as call them.. 'three day wonders' ), and then let loose on the world without the proper knowledge and even worse... foreign workers who come here and suddenly become 'builders' or even more worrying.. 'electricians'! It’s very much the luck of the draw today as well as the influx of the neighbouring countries that has added to the confusion and so what you / we are left with is a lottery.. and, I wish anyone good luck as to who they invite into their homes and businesses to carry out whatever repair work that needs to be rectified. Please do not think that I am scare mongering... its just the truth as to where we are today! If you contact me then you know who you'll have knocking on your door, ( and from which country.... England ), as it will only be me and no one else calling from some obscure temporary agency!
I began my career in the construction industry as an apprentice electrician serving a five year apprenticeship and then waiting for a few more years before I became an electrical contractor and then onto becoming a general builder and, since then, I have gradually gained pretty much all the information on, and about, the construction industry as anyone would need to know... so you can be assured that I am not a 'three day wonder' or a 'fly by night' character just out to grab your hard earned money and disappear... and I offer a friendly, professional and a reliable service!
Over the years I have had to learn many trades as I soon found out how unreliable most people are and that's why I learnt how to be a very good plasterer, ( I am a very good pebble-dasher too ), and it took a long time to get this right! I have been fitting and installing kitchen's and bathroom's for nigh on 30 plus years also bespoke porches, conservatories and extensions and all of the associated ground works such as drainage systems and manholes etc. I am an experienced plumber and a very good painter and decorator, installing block drives, patios, roofing, ( warm or cold systems and asphalting flat roofs with a pot also the construction of the actual roof and tiling it... fitting Velux windows.. etc., ), double glazing, carpentry and so on.... 'jack of all trades'? No... I have learnt to do all of these trades to the highest of standards... oh... I almost forgot to mention, I also do all aspects of the electrical trades, ( my son is a part P registered electrical contractor called 'ANTECH ELECTRICAL' with NAPIT ), and I have worked for the MOD, ( Ministry of Defence ), installing their computer and industrial air conditioning systems and so on.
I am fully insured with Nat West bank's business policy and I take care wherever I work and I also keep a clean and tidy workplace and all my works are completed to the highest of standards plus I have an 'eye' for detail too. I complete all sizes of works so, no matter how small or large the project may be I would be pleased to submit an estimate for it plus I also do all of my technical drawings to submit to the local council re., building or planning control departments.
If you would like to know more about my services then please contact me.
regards..... Ray
